Why we chose Directus

Hello, we have recently changed CMS to Directus. Directus is a nice and modern CMS with many features that will help us write better articles.

What is a CMS?

Before i explain why we chose Directus, you should know what a CMS is, so here's a quick summary. A CMS (Content Management System) is a tool that:

• Makes it possible to create, edit and manage content
• Makes it easy to edit text and media
• Automates publishing of content
• Provides control over user rights and access
• Enables integration with other systems and services
• A CMS is an important tool for many modern web projects, as it makes it possible to manage content efficiently and easily.

Why we switched

There are many reasons that influenced our decision to switch to Directus. One of the main reasons is that our old CMS, Pocketbase, is less and less updated and has been developed by just one person. Directus, on the other hand, is supported by a company.
After a while I spent more time fixing problems with Pocketbase than I spent developing and improving the website. Pocketbase is a good program and has made many things easy, but Pocketbase did not work well with our use case. That's why we had to change.

Why we chose Directus

There are many reasons as to why we chose Directus, here is a short list of the biggest factors.

• A nicer and better user interface (UI) This makes it easier for writes to write and publish new articles.
• Realtime communication using WebSockets.
• A better system for images and files.
• A better usersystem.

What we like about Directus

We are very happy with DIrectus so far. Here are some of our favorite things about it:

• Simplicity: Directus is very easy to use, even for those lacking technogical knowledge. This makes it possible for more people to contribute to the content on our website.
• Flexibility: Directus lets us tailoer our workflow and modify it to our needs. This has made it possible for us to automate many tasks and increase our productivity.
• Scalability: Directus is built to handle large amounts of content and traffic. This makes it possible for us to grow and improve out website without having to worry about technical limitations.

What we have done so far

We have already done some work with setting up Directus and configuring it to our needs. Here are some of the things that we have done so far:

• Configured the usersystem: We have created a usersystem that allows us to control who can create and publish content.
• Integrated with other systems: We have integrated Directus with other systemes that we use.

We are very happy with Directus so far, and we look forward to continue using it for creating better content and increasing our productivity.
